After a year and a half spent in Northern California, we have had a bit of time to travel for a few weekend getaways. I am usually up for any kind of travel experience, whether it be camping, hotels, bed and breakfasts, or a nice resort! Travel is something that I have always held near and dear to my heart, and I have tried to keep true to the promise I made myself back in 2010, to adventure every chance I could.
It has taken some time to settle into our new lives as Californian’s, but one thing that came as a pleasant surprise, was the opportunity to travel more often than we thought. Living right outside of San Francisco has provided us with the opportunity to drive a few hours in different directions and experience different climates and landscapes, which makes weekend getaways truly feel like miniature vacations to far away places.
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so if you are looking for some gift inspiration, you have come to the right place! As most of my readers know by now, I am a gift giving fanatic! I have always loved to put a lot of effort and thought into gifts for my friends and family – something that gives it that extra touch to really make it feel special.
This list is filled with a whole lot of red and pink, because why not be festive? I am a true believer in giving gifts year round, and still believe the best gifts are given as surprises and out-of-the-blue. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I have rounded up an eclectic list of some dreamy gift ideas that most ladies would love to receive this holiday.
Do you or someone you know struggle with anxiety and/or panic attacks? This has been something I have dealt with myself for the last five years and I have finally learned to spin what most see as a negative into a positive.
My anxiety and panic attacks come and go as they please, and I never truly know when it is going to be a good day, week, month, or year. In the last five years, I have gone from weeks on end with countless panic attacks a day that have left me broken and drained, to also experiencing the bliss of one year free of a single anxious thought or panic attack.
As I continue to tell my readers over and over again, it is so important to me to use beauty products that are light, airy, and oil free! Outside of my daily beauty routine, I don’t spend much time pampering myself with as many spa facials and masks as I would like. I tend to keep my beauty regimen pretty simple, making sure I wash my face every morning and every night and do my best to wear lots of moisturizer too.
When I was introduced to evian® Facial Spray I was excited for the chance to use a lightweight moisturizer that has as few ingredients as it gets, water and minerals. Yes, you read that right, and yes, I know evian® is most famous for their French Alps drinking water, but they are stepping up their game with this mineral water facial spray. I use the spray every morning or night after I get out of the shower to help set in the moisture, so you could say it has become my #AnytimeSpa. It has improved the redness in my skin and has balanced out the oily vs. dry skin battle that I am going through right now, as we transition from season to season.
Thanksgiving is now less than a month away and it is my second favorite holiday of the year- of course next to Christmas! There is something so homey and cozy about Thanksgiving and I was raised in a home where southern home-cooking took place for the entire week. I can’t help but think of Thanksgiving and think of all of my family’s delicious home recipes that have been passed down generation after generation.
Thanksgiving also makes me think strongly about the countless hours my mother spent and still spends in the kitchen for the entire week and especially the day of. In my mind, she is the hostess with the mostess! This post was inspired by the countless hours of watching and helping her cook in the kitchen throughout this very special holiday. It is so much fun to incorporate fall-themed cookware, utensils, spices, and decor when it can be the center of attention at any holiday gathering.
Here is a Thanksgiving gift guide to shower the cook or cooks in your life, helping to show how thankful you are for the countless hours they spend in the kitchen, on this very special holiday!
